September 27, 2021 (PASCAGOULA, MS) The Board of Directors of Merchants & Marine Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Merchants & Marine Bancorp, is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Hodges to the position of Chief Banking Officer.
Hodges, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has served the bank for the past year as Market President for the organization’s Pine Belt Region. He joined Merchants & Marine Bank after spending the first 19 years of his career at Hancock Whitney Bank, where he served in multiple community banking roles. Hodges holds a degree from William Carey University, and he has completed executive development programs at both the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
In his new role on the bank’s executive leadership team, Hodges support all client-facing lines of business, in
cluding commercial lending and retail banking. His new role also takes on formal responsibility for the bank’s strategic marketing and advertising efforts.
Along with his promotion to Chief Banking Officer, the Board has elevated Hodges to the executive leadership of the bank’s holding company, Merchants & Marine Bancorp. In his role with the holding company, Hodges will be a key driver of the bank’s continued growth and expansion into new markets.
