Credit Bureau

Equifax, Experian, and Transunion

  • Information about your payment history
  • How much credit you have available
  • How much credit you use
  • Information from debt buyers and collectors including medical debt
  • Public information, like bankruptcies, liens, and judgments

Each of these companies will provide one free credit report every 12 months if you request it. will walk you through the steps to obtain your free credit reports. You will be asked to provide personal information and select the report you would like to receive. Once you have selected the report, you will be rerouted to that agency’s site where you will confirm your identity before receiving your downloadable credit report.

Since each report may vary, and information is updated on an ongoing basis, it is recommended that you request one every few months. For example, request Equifax in January, Experian in April, and Transunion in August.
