Customer Salute: Pioneer Healthcare
The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly taken its toll on the people of Mississippi and Alabama. Many of us have lost family and friends in this once-in-a-century event, and many of us have suffered through the virus ourselves.
Yet, we always see those who rise to the occasion when diversity hits, whether it’s a public health emergency or natural disaster. The team at Merchants & Marine Bank is inspired daily by the tireless healthcare workers who serve our communities day in and day out. We are especially proud of the ongoing impact of one of our beloved clients, Bassfield Mississippi’s Pioneer Healthcare.
Led by Brad Massey, Pioneer Healthcare is seeing a similar surge in COVID-19 patients to other area clinics, due to the rise of the Delta variant. Under the leadership of Brad and physician Roy Dudley Evans, Pioneer was an early adopter of the now-popular monoclonal antibody treatment that is reducing the virus symptoms by up to 90 percent, often within hours of intravenous infusion.
As outlined in this recent feature by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger , Pioneer Healthcare’s Bassfield clinic now serves hundreds of patients each week, on par with the region’s well-known center of excellence in healthcare, the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. The contribution to the health of our community by Brad, Roy Dudley, and team is nothing short of remarkable.
In short, they are saving lives.
We are grateful for customers like Pioneer Healthcare. They share our passion for the community and are the heroes we look to for inspiration in our work at Merchants & Marine Bank.
